हिंसैव नरकं घोरं, हिंसैव गहनं तमः। वरमेकाक्षरं ग्राह्यं, सर्वसत्त्वानुकम्पनं।।

हिंसा ही नरक का घोर द्वार है, हिंसा ही गहन अन्धकार है इसलिये समस्त प्राणियों की दया से युक्त एक अक्षर का ज्ञान भी अच्छा है।

Violence itself is the terrible gateway to hell, violence itself is dense darkness; therefore even the knowledge of a single syllable joined with compassion for all beings is good.
