एक बार रात्रि में लाइट में भोजन बना, खाने बैठा तो लाइट चली गयी, उसने सोचा उजाले में तो बनाया, अब अंधेरे में खाने से क्या बाधा है, इसलिए जिसे वह अचार समझकर खा रहा था इतने में लाइट आ गयी देखा तो वह मेंढक था। इसी प्रकार बारात में रात्रि में खीर बनी, उसमें एक छिपकली गिर गयी थी, उसी खीर को खाने से अनेकों की मौत हो गयी, रात में नहीं खाने वाले जिनकी हंसी उड़ाई जा रही थी केवल वे ही बचे थे।

Once food was cooked at night under a light; as he sat to eat the light went out. He thought, 'It was cooked in light, so what harm in eating in the dark?' What he was eating thinking it a pickle — when the light returned he saw it was a frog. Likewise at a wedding party kheer was made at night into which a lizard had fallen; many died from eating that kheer, and only those who were being mocked for not eating at night survived.
