सुधारक- विद्यालय के बच्चों ने एक दिन किसी के खेत के चने चुरा लिये, पण्डित गोपालदास जी को पता चला उस दिन भोजन नहीं किया, पण्डितजी को बहुत मनाया पर वे नहीं माने, उन्होंने कहा कि चोरी ही सीखना थी तो संस्था में क्यों आये, मीटिंग हुयी बच्चों ने चोरी के त्याग की प्रतिज्ञा ली, तब पण्डितजी ने शाम को भोजन किया।

Reformer: one day the school's boys stole gram from someone's field. When Pandit Gopaldas ji learned of it, he took no food that day; though much entreated he would not relent, saying, 'If they were to learn only stealing, why did they come to the institution?' A meeting was held, the boys vowed to give up theft, and only then did the Pandit take his meal in the evening.
