अन्धे के हाथ में लेम्प- किसी ने अन्धे को धक्का मार दिया, उसका घड़ा फूट गया, फिर भी उसी को डाँटते हैं, क्यों अन्धे हो दिखता नहीं ? अन्धे ने जबाब दिया जी नहीं दिखता, दूसरे दिन अन्धा हाथ में लेम्प लेकर पानी भरने जा रहा था, वही व्यक्ति उसको फिर मिला, पूछा ! आप कल कह रहे थे, हम अन्धे हैं फिर आपने लेम्प क्यों ले रखा है ? उसने जबाब दिया आप जैसे आँखों वालों को राह दिखाने के लिये, सज्जन पुरूषों का कितना भी नुकसान हो जाये वे क्रोधित नहीं होते हैं।

A lamp in a blind man's hand: someone shoved a blind man and his pot broke, yet he scolded the blind man — 'Are you blind, can't you see?' The blind man replied, 'No, sir, I cannot see.' The next day the blind man was going to fetch water with a lamp in his hand; the same man met him and asked, 'Yesterday you said you were blind — then why do you carry a lamp?' He answered, 'To show the way to sighted people like you.' However much loss they suffer, good men do not grow angry.
