नाहं जानामि केयूरे, नाहं जानामि कुण्डले। नूपुरे तु अभिजानामि, नित्यं पादाभिवन्दनात्।।

सीता हरण के बाद रामचन्द्रजी लक्ष्मण से पूँछते हैं, क्या ये जमीन में पड़े हुए बाजूबन्द, कुण्डल आदि आभूषण सीता के हैं ? लक्ष्मण जी कहते है मैंने केवल नित्य चरणों का वन्दन किया है, इसलिए बिछिया मात्र पहचानता हूँ अन्य आभूषण नहीं, पहले के लोग कितनी मर्यादा पालते थे।
