किमिति कठोरं गर्जसि, वर्षसि सलिलस्य शीकरं वै। मा-मा बर्षाम्भोधर, त्यजतु कठोरं तु गर्जनं सद्यः॥

हे मेघ! तू कठोर क्यों गरजता है, बरसता तो कुछ ही बून्दे है, मत बरस-मत बरस किन्तु कठोर गर्जना तो शीघ्र छोड़ दे 'यहाँ पर भी मेघान्योक्ति के माध्यम से कहा गया है कि' हे धनवान्! तू याचकों को देता तो थोड़ा है और डांटता बहुत है, तू भले ही दान मत दे, पर डाँटना तो शीघ्र छोड़ दे।

O cloud! Why do you thunder so harshly when you rain only a few drops? Do not rain, do not rain, but at least quickly give up your harsh thunder. Again, through this cloud-allegory it is said: O wealthy, you give beggars little but scold them much; even if you give no charity, at least quickly give up the scolding.
