दूसरों की निंदा और अपनी प्रशंसा करने से नीचगोत्र का बंध होता है और वह बंध दूसरे गुणस्थान तक ही होता है अतः निंदा करने वाला नियम से ही मिथ्यादृष्टि पापी है।

Slandering others and praising oneself binds low-status (neech-gotra) karma, and that bondage occurs only up to the second gunasthana; therefore the slanderer is by rule a wrong-viewed sinner.
