मौनमेव हितं पुंसां, शश्वत् सर्वार्थसिद्धये। वचो वाणी प्रियन्तथ्यं, सर्व सत्वोपकारियत्।।

प्रिय और सार्थक, प्राणीमात्र की हितकारी वाणी बोलनी चाहिए तथा शाश्वत् धर्म, अर्थ, काम एवं मोक्ष की सिद्धि के लिए मौन रहना चाहिए।

One should speak words that are pleasant, meaningful, and beneficial to all beings, and observe silence for the attainment of the eternal dharma, wealth, desire, and liberation.
