शीलेन प्रमदा जवेन तुरगो, नित्योत्सवैर्मंदिरं, सत्पुत्रेण कुलं नृपेण वसुधा, लोकत्रयं धार्मिकैः।।

1.हाथी की शोभा मदजल से है, 2.पानी की शोभा कमलों से, 3.रात्रि की शोभा पूर्ण चन्द्रमा से, 4.वाणी की शोभा व्याकरण से, 5.नदी की शोभा हँस युगल से, 6.सभा की शोभा विद्वानों से, 7.स्त्री की शोभा ब्रह्मचर्य से, 8.घोड़े की शोभा वेग से, 9.मन्दिर की शोभा नित्य होने वाले उत्सवों से, 10.कुल की शोभा सुपुत्र से, 11.पृथ्वी की शोभा राजा से और 12.तीनों लोकों की शोभा धर्मात्माओं से होती है।

An elephant is adorned by its rut, water by lotuses, night by the full moon, speech by grammar, a river by pairs of swans, an assembly by the learned, a woman by chastity, a horse by its speed, a temple by daily festivals, a family by a worthy son, the earth by a king, and the three worlds by the righteous.
