दो चेहरे- एक ही चेहरा समय-समय पर पापी और धर्मात्मा का बनता है, महाराज जयसिंह ने एक बिल्ली पाल रखी थी, वह बिलकुल शान्त बन गयी, राजा के साथ नित्य रहती थी, राजा उसके माथे पर दीपक रखकर पुराण पढ़ते थे, राजा उसकी खूब प्रशंसा करते थे, बिल्ली की परीक्षा करने के लिए मन्त्री ने एक चूहा छोड़ा तो बिल्ली के कान खड़े हो गये, दूसरा छोड़ा तो बिल्ली के रोंगटे खड़े हो गये, तीसरा छोड़ा तो बिल्ली ने छपट्टा मारा, दीपक गिर गया, तैल फैल गया और पुराण गन्दा हो गया, इसी प्रकार दुनिया में एक व्यक्ति के दो चेहरे होते हैं।

Two faces—One and the same face becomes at times that of a sinner and at times that of a saint. King Jaisingh had reared a cat which had grown perfectly calm and stayed with him always; the king would place a lamp on its head and read the scriptures, and would praise it greatly. To test the cat, the minister released a mouse, and the cat's ears pricked up; a second, and its fur stood on end; a third, and the cat pounced—the lamp fell, the oil spilled, and the scripture was soiled. In just this way, in the world a person has two faces.
