जन्मभूमिरविद्याना, मकीर्ते र्वासमन्दिरम्। पाप पङ्क महागर्तो, निकृतिः कीर्तिता बुधैः।।

मायाचारी समस्त अविद्याओं की जन्मभूमि है, अपयश का घर है और पाप रूपी गड्ढे में गिराने वाली है ऐसा ज्ञानीजनों ने कहा है।

Deceit is the birthplace of all ignorance, the abode of ill-fame, and that which casts one into the great pit of sin—so the wise have declared.
