महावीरस्वामी पर उपसर्ग- महावीर भगवान् दीक्षा के बाद विहार करते हुये उज्जयिनी नगरी पँहुचे और वृक्ष के नीचे बैठकर तप करने लगे, वहाँ के लोगों ने समझा कि ये यहाँ की भूमि पर अधिकार करने आयें है, इसलिये लोगों ने उन पर घोर उपसर्ग किया, लेकिन उन्होंने अपने क्षमा भाव को नहीं त्यागा और केवलज्ञान को प्राप्त किया।

An affliction upon Mahavir Swami: after initiation, wandering, Lord Mahavir reached the city of Ujjayini and sat in austerity beneath a tree. The people there imagined he had come to seize their land and inflicted terrible affliction on him; but he never abandoned his forgiving disposition and attained omniscience.
