पगड़ी का पड़ाव बड़ों के शिर पर- घर में छोटे लड़के को भले ही लाड़ प्यार अधिक हो किन्तु पगड़ी तो बड़े लड़के को ही बाँधी जाती है, उसी तरह से सम्यक्त्व की भले ही प्रशंसा की गयी हो, लेकिन मोक्ष तो चरित्र से ही प्राप्त होता है।

The turban rests on the eldest's head: though the younger son may be more pampered at home, the turban is tied only on the eldest son; likewise, though right-faith is praised, liberation is attained only through conduct.
