कषायाकुलितो जीवः, कार्यमार्य विनिन्दतं। कृत्वानुतायते चान्ते, सा निन्दा निन्द्य नाशिनी।।

कषाय से आकुलित होकर सज्जनों के द्वारा निन्दनीय कार्य हो जाने पर अन्त में जो पश्चाताप किया जाता है, वह पापों को नाश करने वाली निन्दा कहलाती है।

When, agitated by passion, one commits an act condemnable by the noble, the remorse felt afterward is called ninda (self-censure) — the destroyer of sins.
