युग के आदि में भरत-बाहुबली लड़े थे, इसलिए हमने लड़ना सीखा, बाद मे उन्होंने संयम लिया, पर हमने संयम लेना नहीं सीखा, महाभारत सुनकर आये किसी व्यक्ति से पूँछा कि क्या सीखा? बोला! चाहे लड़ मरो, मगर किसी को पाँच पैसा भी मत दो, अर्थात् व्यक्ति बुराई ग्रहण करता है अच्छाई नहीं यह उसकी कमी है।

At the dawn of the age Bharata and Bahubali fought, so we learned to fight; later they took to self-restraint, but we did not learn restraint. Someone returning from a recital of the Mahabharata was asked what he had learned; he said, 'Fight to the death if you must, but never give anyone even five paise.' That is, a person grasps the evil and not the good — such is his failing.
