संस्कारित शिला- उद्यान में लतायें अपनी सुगन्धी दशों दिशाओं में फैला रही थी, वहीं एक विशाल शिला पड़ी थी, लतायें उसको देखकर हँसती और कहती की तुम इतने विशालकाय होकर भी पैरों से रौंदे और ठुकराये जाते हो, वह लज्जित होता था, उस उद्यान में एक शिल्पी आया, उसने संस्कारित करके मूर्ति बना दी, पुष्प मूर्ति के चरणों में पड़ा था, पुष्प ने पूँछा आपकी ये अवस्था कैसे हुयी कि मैं लोगों के सिर पे बैठने वाला, आज आपके चरणों में पड़ा हूँ? उत्तर दिया! शिल्पी ने 'अनावश्यक कलेवर हटाकर' संस्कारित कर दिया गुरु ने प्राणप्रतिष्ठा करके मुझे पूज्य बना दिया, 'जन्मतो जायते शूद्रः संस्कारात् द्विजमुच्यते' अर्थात् जन्म से सभी शूद्र होते हैं, संस्कार से ही उच्च कुलीन माने जाते हैं।

'The cultivated rock' — creepers in a garden spread their fragrance in all directions, while a huge rock lay there; the creepers laughed at it, saying that despite its size it was trampled and kicked underfoot, and it felt ashamed. Then a sculptor came, refined it and carved it into an idol. A flower lay at the idol's feet and asked, 'How has it come about that I, who used to sit on people's heads, now lie at your feet?' The idol replied, 'The sculptor cut away the unnecessary bulk and refined me, and the guru consecrated me and made me worthy of worship' — 'By birth all are shudras; only through refinement is one called noble.'
