सत्पुरुषों की मित्रता सात कदम साथ-साथ चलने अथवा सात पदों का वार्तालाप होने पर हो जाती है, सत्पुरुषों में भी जो सत्पुरुष हैं उनकी मित्रता तीन कदम साथ चलने से हो जाती है और जो सन्तों में सन्त हैं, उनकी मित्रता पद-पद पर होती है।

The friendship of good people is formed by walking seven steps together or by seven words of conversation; among the good, the friendship of the truly good is formed by walking three steps together; and of the saintliest of saints, friendship is formed at every single step.
