सोच बदले विना चारित्र नहीं बदलता है, अभी तो उजाला दिख रहा है ऐसा मानकर भोजन कर लेते हैं, आलू का त्याग है झोल का नहीं, ऐसा मानकर झोल ले लेते हैं, जब तक चारित्र के प्रति दृढ़ता नहीं होती तब तक चारित्र नहीं पलता है।

Character does not change until thinking changes: one eats saying 'there is still daylight,' or takes the gravy saying 'I renounced only the potato, not the gravy.' Until there is firmness toward conduct, conduct is never truly kept.
