सत् और असत् पुरुषों में बहुत बोलना सत्यव्रत है, सत् और असत् पुरुषों में परिमित बोलना भाषा समिति है, सज्जनों में ही अधिक या कम बोलना सत्य धर्म है इस प्रकार इन तीनों में अन्तर है।

To speak much among the good and the bad is the vow of truth; to speak measuredly among the good and the bad is restraint of speech; to speak more or less only among the virtuous is the Dharma of truth - thus these three differ.
