ऐसी कोई बात किसी आदमी के बारे में मत कहो, जो उस मनुष्य के मुँह पर नहीं कह सकते हैं। जो अभिमानी हैं, आदर के योग्य नहीं है, उचित अनुचित के विवेक से रहित हैं, अप्रिय वक्ता हैं, दु:ख और अपमान से संकुचित हो रहे हैं ऐसे व्यक्तियों से अत्यन्त गुणी मनुष्य संभाषण नहीं करते हैं।

Say nothing about a person that you cannot say to his face. Truly virtuous people do not converse with the arrogant, the unworthy of respect, those lacking discernment of right and wrong, unpleasant speakers, and those shrunken by sorrow and insult.
