कुलीन व्यक्ति क्रोधित होने पर भी असभ्य नहीं बोलता है, निश्चय ही गन्ना निचोड़े जाने पर भी मीठा ही उगलता है। नीच व्यक्ति सैंकड़ों गुणों से सहित होने पर भी जो हँसी में कहता है, वह झगड़े में भी कथनीय नहीं होता है।

A noble person does not speak coarsely even when angry—surely sugarcane, though crushed, yields only sweetness. A base person, even endowed with hundreds of merits, says in jest things that should not be said even in a quarrel.
