ब्रह्मचर्य के बिना मोह नष्ट नहीं होता, मित्र के बिना दुःख, सूर्य के बिना अन्धकार, सन्तोष के बिना लोभ, पथ्य के बिना रोग, पुण्य के बिना दुःख नष्ट नहीं होता है पुण्य हीन को वस्तु मिलने पर भी सुख प्राप्त नहीं होता किन्तु जो पुण्यवान होता है उसे जंगल में भी सुख/सम्मान प्राप्त होता है।

Without celibacy delusion is not destroyed, without a friend sorrow is not, without the sun darkness is not, without contentment greed is not, without wholesome diet disease is not, and without merit suffering is not destroyed. One devoid of merit gets no happiness even on obtaining things, but the meritorious finds happiness and honour even in a forest.
