गुण का जानकार ही गुणी मनुष्य से प्रेम करता है, गुणरहित मनुष्य को गुणी मनुष्य में सन्तोष नहीं होता हैं। भ्रमर वन से कमल के पास आता है, परन्तु मेंढक एक तालाब में निवास करने पर भी कमल के पास नहीं जाता है।

Only one who appreciates virtue loves a virtuous person; a virtueless person finds no satisfaction in a virtuous one. The bee comes from the forest to the lotus, but the frog, though living in the very same pond, does not go near the lotus.
