इतने नरम भी मत हो जाओ कि दुनिया आपको खा जाये, इतने गरम भी मत हो जाओ कि दुनिया आपको छू न सके, इतने सरल भी मत हो जाओ कि दुनिया आपको मूर्ख बना दे, इतने ज्यादा अकड़ों भी मत कि दुनिया आपसे मिल न सके, इतने गम्भीर भी मत बनो कि दुनिया आपसे ऊब जाये, इतने छिछोरे भी मत बनो की दुनिया आपकी गिनती न करे इतने मँहगे भी मत बनो कि दुनिया आपको बुला न सके, इतने सस्ते भी मत बनो कि दुनिया आपको ना चाहे।

Do not become so soft that the world devours you, nor so hot that the world cannot touch you; not so simple that the world makes a fool of you, nor so stiff that the world cannot approach you; not so grave that the world tires of you, nor so frivolous that the world discounts you; not so costly that the world cannot call on you, nor so cheap that the world does not want you.
