अपने मिलने वालों के संग जैसा हम व्यवहार करेंगे, वही बीज बनकर पनपेगा, वैसा वे हमारे साथ व्यवहार करेंगे। अपने साथियों को पद, आयु के अनुसार आदर-सम्मान स्नेह दें, उनके अभिवादन का समुचित उत्तर दें, बात के दौरान अशिष्ट और अश्लील भाषा का प्रयोग न करें, उपकार के बदले धन्यवाद देना न भूलें, किसी रुग्ण से बात करें तो सदा हौसला बढ़ायें, रोग की भीषणता का आभास न होने दें। हर्ष-विषाद न करके समता की रक्षा करना भी तपस्या है।

However we behave with those we meet, that becomes a seed and grows, and they will behave the same way with us. Give your companions respect, honour and affection according to their status and age, respond properly to their greetings, do not use rude or vulgar language while talking, do not forget to give thanks in return for kindness, and when speaking to the sick always give encouragement and do not let them sense the gravity of their illness. To guard equanimity by not giving in to joy and grief is also austerity.
