कामी पुरुष सुख-दुःख, हित-अहित, पुण्य-पाप, वध-बन्धनादि, मरण की समीपता और दुर्गति को नहीं जानता है तिल बराबर सुख के लिए सुमेरु बराबर इस लोक-परलोक में दुःख भोगता है। संयमित जीवन ही जिनशासन की प्रभावना का प्रतीक है।

A lustful man knows nothing of pleasure and pain, benefit and harm, merit and sin, killing and bondage, the nearness of death, or a wretched destiny; for a sesame-seed of pleasure he suffers a Mount-Meru of misery in this world and the next. A disciplined life alone is the emblem of the glory of the Jina's teaching.
