माता, बहन, पुत्री के साथ भी एकान्त में नहीं बैठना चाहिए क्योंकि इन्द्रियाँ बड़ी बलवती होती हैं, वे तपस्वी पुरुषों को भी अपनी ओर खींच लेती हैं। अरे जिस प्रकार लाख का घड़ा आग के पास रखते ही पिघल जाता है, वह शीघ्र ही चारों ओर से तपकर गलकर नष्ट हो जाता है, वैसे ही ब्रह्मचर्य भी स्त्री के साथ निवास करने से भ्रष्ट, शिथिलाचारी हो जाता है, अरे संसर्ग तो दूर रहा, स्त्री के स्मरण मात्र से ब्रह्मचारी का संयम नष्ट हो जाता है।

Even with one's mother, sister or daughter one should not sit in solitude, for the senses are very powerful and draw even ascetics toward themselves. Just as a pot of lac melts the moment it is placed near fire and, heated on all sides, soon dissolves and is destroyed, so too celibacy becomes corrupted and lax by dwelling with a woman; forget contact—at the mere remembrance of a woman the celibate's self-control is destroyed.
