जिन साधकों ने स्त्रियों के संसर्ग से पीठ फेर ली है वे साधक समस्त उपसर्गों में स्थिर रहते हैं। विष खाना अच्छा है किन्तु विषय सुख का सेवन करना अच्छा नहीं है क्योंकि विष खाने से तो जीव एक ही बार मरण का कष्ट पाता है किन्तु विषय रूपी स्त्री के सेवन से मनुष्य नरक के गड्ढे में गिर कर बार-बार कष्ट पाता है अरे! विष तो खाने से ही मनुष्य को मारता है लेकिन विषय तो स्मरणमात्र से मनुष्य के संयमी जीवन की हत्या कर डालते हैं।

Seekers who have turned their backs on the company of women stay steady amid all afflictions. Eating poison is better than enjoying sensual pleasure, for poison kills a being once, but through the enjoyment of sense-objects—likened to woman—a person falls into the pit of hell and suffers again and again. Poison kills only when eaten, but sense-objects slay a person's disciplined life at the mere thought of them.
