चार पहर-शाम छः बजे से नौ बजे तक रौद्र पहर, नौ बजे से बारह बजे तक राक्षस पहर, बारह बजे से तीन बजे तक गन्धर्व पहर, तीन बजे से छः बजे तक मनोहर पहर कहलाता है।

There are four watches of the night: from six to nine in the evening is the fierce (raudra) watch, from nine to twelve the demon (rakshasa) watch, from twelve to three the gandharva watch, and from three to six the pleasant (manohar) watch.
