श्रावक के व्रतों को अङ्गीकार किया, कुछ दिन तक व्रतों का पालन किया बाद में कुसङ्गति के कारण व्रत छोड़ दिये, मिथ्यादृष्टि बन गया और भव-भव में दुःख उठाए, व्रत भङ्ग के कारण राज्य से च्युत होना पड़ा, अतः प्राणों के वियोग होने पर भी व्रत भङ्ग नहीं करना चाहिए।

He accepted the layman's vows and kept them for some days, but later, through bad company, abandoned them, became a wrong-believer and suffered birth after birth; because of breaking his vows he had to lose his kingdom. Therefore, even at the cost of one's life, one should never break one's vows.
