मन में नवधा भक्ति लेकर, तू जो दान करेगा। ऊपर वाला तेरा खजाना, रातों रात भरेगा।। जञ्जीरों में बँधी चन्दना, दान नहीं बँध पाये, इक्षु रस देकर श्रेयाँस भी दान तीर्थ कहलाये, अञ्जुलि भर देने वाले, दरिया (समुद्र) भरके मिलेगा।। ऊपरवाला।। पुण्य कोश तेरा रिक्त हो रहा, कुछ तो सञ्चय कर ले, नादानी को छोड़ रे मानी, दान को अक्षय करले। पद रज श्री चरणों की ले ले, शिवपद तुझको मिलेगा।। ऊपरवाला।। जिसने दिया उसी ने पाया, जो जोड़े सो छोड़े, खाता-वही सही रख पगले, कलम काहे को तोड़े, कैसे मिलेगा वक्त पड़े जब, जमा ही कुछ न करेगा।। ऊपरवाला।।

If you give with the ninefold devotion in your heart, the Lord above will fill your treasury overnight. Chandana in chains could not be bound by charity; Shreyans too, by giving sugarcane juice, became renowned as a founder of the tirtha of giving. He who gives a handful shall receive an ocean. Your store of merit is emptying, gather at least a little; O proud one, leave off folly and make your charity imperishable. Take the dust of the holy feet and you shall attain liberation. He who gave, he alone received; who hoards must let go. Keep your account true, O foolish one; why break your pen? How will you find anything in time of need if you save nothing at all?
