उत्कृष्टपात्रमनगारमणुव्रताढ्यं, मध्यं व्रतेन रहितं सुदृशं जघन्यं। निर्दर्शनं व्रतनिकाययुतं कुपात्रं, युग्मोज्झितं नरमपात्र मिदं च विद्धि॥

मुनि उत्कृष्ट पात्र हैं, अणुव्रती मध्यम पात्र है, अविरत सम्यग्दृष्टि जघन्य पात्र है, सम्यग्दर्शन रहित और व्रत सहित कुपात्र है सम्यग्दर्शन और व्रत दोनों से रहित अपात्र हैं।

The monk is the highest recipient, the anuvrati (partial-vow holder) a middling recipient, the non-abstaining right-believer the lowest recipient; one with vows but lacking right faith is an unworthy recipient (kupatra), and one lacking both right faith and vows is a non-recipient (apatra).
