काका घड़ी न खोइए गई घड़ी नही आय, यह सोने की है घड़ी सोने में नहीं जाय। सोने में नहीं जाय घड़ी का नहीं ठिकाना, घड़ी-घड़ी में घड़ी बदलती किसने जाना। कह काका समझाए घड़ी मत छोड़ो खाली, घड़ी-घड़ी में घड़ी आ रही जाने वाली।। घड़ी नहीं ठहरात घड़ी मत व्यर्थ निकारो, घड़ी-घड़ी में घड़ी आ रही ये ही विचारो। कह काका कवि जैन घड़ी का सही निशाना, किसकी कब आ जाए घड़ी का कौन ठिकाना।।

O uncle, lose not the hour, the passed hour returns not; this hour is golden, spend it not in sleep. Its moment cannot be relied upon; who has known how moment by moment the hour changes? Says the poet, let no hour go empty; moment by moment the departing hour arrives. The hour does not stay; waste it not in vain; ponder that moment by moment the hour comes. Says Jain the poet, the hour aims true; none can say whose hour will come when.
