नापृष्टः कस्यचिद् ब्रूयान्, न चान्येनापृच्छतः। जानन्नपि हि मेधावी, जड़वल्लोकमाचरेत्।।

विना पूँछे न बोलें, दूसरे के द्वारा पूँछे जाने पर भी न बोलें, बुद्धिमान आत्म शान्ति के लिए जानते हुए भी मूर्ख की तरह आचरण करे।

Speak not unasked, and even when asked by another, speak not; for the sake of inner peace the wise one, though knowing, should behave like a simpleton.
