विद्या गुरु को ऊपर बैठाना- एक बार एक भील की स्त्री को दोहला हुआ कि मुझे आम खाने को मिल जाय, लेकिन उस समय आम का मौसम नहीं था, फिर भी तीव्र इच्छा हुयी भील से अपनी भावना व्यक्त की, भील ने सारे जङ्गल को खोज डाला लेकिन कहीं पर भी आम नहीं मिला, भील को मालूम हुआ, कि राजा श्रेणिक के बगीचे में इस समय आम उपलब्ध हैं। वह अन्तर्धान नामक विद्या के माध्यम से बगीचे से आम ले आया, रोज आम लाता लेकिन पहरेदार पकड़ नहीं पाते, एक दिन भील पकड़ा गया, राजा के सामने उपस्थित किया, राजा उसकी विद्या पर प्रसन्न हुआ, और राजा ने कहा कि तू अपनी विद्या हमें सिखा दे तो मैं तुझे छोड़ दूँगा। भील तैयार हो गया। बहुत देर तक विद्या सिखाता रहा लेकिन राजा सफल नहीं हुआ, तभी अभय कुमार निकले उन्होंने कहा, राजन! गुरू को ऊपर विठाओ और आप नीचे बैठों तब विद्या सिद्ध होगी।

Seating the teacher of a craft above oneself—Once a Bhil's wife had a craving to eat a mango, but it was not the mango season; still, her desire was intense and she told her husband. The Bhil searched the whole forest but found no mango anywhere. He learned that at that time mangoes were available in King Shrenik's garden. By means of a magic art of invisibility he fetched a mango from the garden, and though he brought one daily the guards could not catch him. One day he was caught and produced before the king, who was pleased with his skill and said, 'Teach me your art and I will release you.' The Bhil agreed. He taught for a long time but the king could not succeed. Then Abhaya Kumar came and said, 'O king, seat the teacher above and sit below yourself—then the art will be mastered.'
