ज्ञानदान तत्काल आनन्द देने वाला है,उससे प्राणी सांसारिक सुखों से तृप्त होकर मोक्ष में सदा आनन्द करता है, अत: चारों दानों में सर्वश्रेष्ठ ज्ञानदान है।

The gift of knowledge gives immediate joy; through it a being becomes content with worldly pleasures and enjoys everlasting bliss in liberation — therefore, of the four kinds of charity, the gift of knowledge is supreme.
