जो अपनी नम्रता से ही उन्नत होते जाते हैं, दूसरों के गुणों की प्रशंसा करते-करते ही अपने गुणों को विख्यात करते हैं, दूसरों के कामों को सिद्ध करने के लिए निरन्तर महान् उद्योग भी करते हुए ही अपने प्रयोजनों को सिद्ध करते हैं और अपनी क्षमा के द्वारा ही निंदा के नीरस अक्षरों से मुखरित मुख वाले दुर्मुखों को दुःखित कर देते हैं- ऐसे अद्भुत आचरण वाले किसके वंदनीय नहीं होते हैं?

Those who rise by their very humility, who make their own virtues renowned by ever praising the virtues of others, who accomplish their own aims even while making continuous great effort to accomplish others' works, and who by their very forgiveness discomfit the foul-mouthed whose lips are loud with the dry syllables of slander — those of such wondrous conduct, by whom are they not revered?
