दान से सम्पत्ति घटती नहीं, बढ़ती है, अँगूरों की शाखाएँ काटने से और अधिक अँगूर आते हैं। दानी के चरित्र का पता दान की अपेक्षा देने की विधि से अधिक लगता है।

Wealth does not decrease by charity but increases; pruning grapevine branches yields more grapes. A giver's character is revealed more by the manner of giving than by the gift itself.
