आचार्य ज्ञानसागर जी का व्यक्तित्व कर्तृत्व- जन्म वि.सं. 1951 माघ-मास, छाबड़ा-गोत्र, पिता-चतुर्भुज, माँ-घृतवरीदेवी, ग्राम-राणोली, जिला-सीकर राजस्थान, खण्डेलवाल जाति, पाँच भाई, आप दूसरे नम्बर के थे, आठ वर्ष में पिता की मृत्यु, आर्थिक स्थिति ठीक नहीं थी, प्रारम्भिक शिक्षा गाँव में, बाद में बड़े भाई छगनलाल जी के साथ 'गया' (विहार) नौकरी हेतु गये, पुन अध्ययन हेतु बनारस गये, गङ्गा घाट पर गमछा बेचकर आजीविका चलाते थे, शास्त्री परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण की, आजीवन ब्रह्मचर्य लिया, दयोदय, भद्रोदय, सुदर्शनोदय, वीरोदय, जयोदय, विवेकोदय आदि कवि कालीदास के ही जैसी रचनायें की।

The personality and work of Acharya Gyansagar ji: born in the month of Magha, V.S. 1951, of the Chhabra gotra; father Chaturbhuj, mother Ghritavaridevi; village Ranoli, district Sikar, Rajasthan; Khandelwal caste; five brothers, of whom he was the second. His father died when he was eight; the family's finances were poor. He had his early schooling in the village, later went with his elder brother Chhaganlal to Gaya (Bihar) for work, then to Banaras to study, supporting himself by selling gamchhas on the banks of the Ganga. He passed the Shastri examination, took lifelong celibacy, and composed works — Dayodaya, Bhadrodaya, Sudarshanodaya, Virodaya, Jayodaya, Vivekodaya and others — comparable to those of the poet Kalidasa.
