सज्जनों के मन में पहले बुढ़ापा आता है अर्थात् सज्जन बुढ़ापा आने के पहले ही विषयों से विरक्त हो जाते हैं और शरीर में बाद में, परन्तु दुर्जनों के शरीर में बुढ़ापा पहले आता है और मन में कभी नहीं आता है। दुर्जनों के शरीर में वृद्धावस्था आने के पहले ही बुढ़ापा आ जाता है पर वे विषयों से विरक्त होते ही नहीं हैं।

In good people old age comes first to the mind — that is, they grow detached from the senses even before old age reaches the body. But in the wicked old age comes first to the body and never to the mind; their bodies age, yet they never become detached from sensual objects.
