भगवान् कर्मों से मुक्त हुए थे इस दिन साधु भी चतुर्मास के बन्धन से मुक्त हो जाते हैं, भगवान् ने कर्मजाल को साफ किया था, लोग घरों से मकड़ी के जाल को साफ कर लेते हैं।

On this day the Lord became free of karmas, and monks too are freed from the bond of the four-month rain-retreat; the Lord cleared away the web of karmas, while people clear the cobwebs from their homes.
