रजसेदाणमगहणं, महवसुकुमालदा लहुत्तं च। जत्थेदे पञ्चगुणा तं, पडिलिहणं पसंसन्ति।।

जो धूल और पसीना को ग्रहण नहीं करती, कोमल होती है, सुकमार होती है और हल्की होती है ये पाँच गुण जिसमें होते हैं वह पिच्छिका प्रशंसनीय है, जैसे मयूर पङ्ख कुछ ग्रहण नहीं करते, उसी प्रकार साधु भी कुछ ग्रहण नहीं करते हैं।

A pichhi (peacock-feather whisk) is praiseworthy when it has these five qualities: it takes on neither dust nor sweat, is soft, tender and light. Just as peacock feathers absorb nothing, so too a saint accepts nothing.
