भगवान् पार्श्वनाथ जी वैशाख कृष्णा दूज के दिन प्राणत स्वर्ग से वाराणसी में राजा अश्वसेन-वामादेवी के गर्भ में आये, उग्रवंश में पौष कृष्णा ग्यारस को जन्म हुआ, इन्द्र ने अपने वैभव के साथ आकर पाण्डुक शिला पर अभिषेक किया, पौष कृष्णा ग्यारस पौर्वाण्ह बेला में दीक्षा ली, विमला पालकी से वन में पधारे, देवदारू वृक्ष के नीचे दो उपवास के साथ दीक्षा ली, साथ में तीन सौ राजा दीक्षित हुये, धन्यराजा के यहाँ क्षीरान्न का प्रथम आहार हुआ, धव वृक्ष के नीचे चैत्र कृष्णा त्रयोदशी को केवलज्ञान हुआ, सवा योजन का समवसरण, दस गणधर, प्रथम गणधर स्वयम्भू, प्रथम आर्यिका सुलोका, एक लाख श्रावक, तीन लाख श्राविकाएँ, मुख्य श्रोता महासेन, श्रावण शुक्ला सप्तमी को स्वर्णभद्र कूट सम्मेदशिखर जी से छत्तीस मुनिराजों के साथ एक माह तक योग निरोध कर खड्गासन से मोक्ष पधारे थे।

Lord Parshvanath descended from Pranat heaven into the womb of King Ashvasena and Vamadevi at Varanasi on Vaishakh Krishna Dooj; he was born in the Ugra dynasty on Paush Krishna Ekadashi. Indra came with all his splendour and performed the anointment on the Panduk rock. He took initiation on Paush Krishna Ekadashi in the forenoon, went to the forest in the Vimala palanquin, and took Diksha beneath a deodar tree with a two-day fast; three hundred kings were initiated with him. His first alms of milk-rice were received at King Dhanya's home. Beneath a dhava tree, on Chaitra Krishna Trayodashi, he attained omniscience. His samavasarana spanned one-and-a-quarter yojanas; he had ten Ganadharas (the first being Svayambhu), the first Aryika Suloka, one lakh male and three lakh female lay devotees, chief listener Mahasena. On Shravan Shukla Saptami, from the Swarnabhadra peak of Sammed Shikhar, after arresting his yoga for a month with thirty-six Munis, he attained liberation in the standing (khadgasana) posture.
