दिवि दिवाकरो हन्ति, रात्रौ जैवातृकस्तमः। हार्दतम रसाढ्यं तु, गुरुरेव न चापरः।।

दिन में सूर्य, रात में चन्द्रमा अन्धकार को नष्ट करता है और हृदय के गाढ़ अन्धकार को गुरू ही दूर करते हैं।

The sun dispels darkness by day and the moon by night, but the dense darkness of the heart is removed by the Guru alone, and by none other.
