जैसे सूत्र (धागा) से सहित सुई गुमती नहीं है, उसी तरह सूत्र अर्थात् शास्त्र ज्ञान से सहित जीव संसार में भ्रमण नहीं करता है।

Just as a needle with a thread is not lost, so a soul possessed of the 'thread' — that is, scriptural knowledge — does not wander lost in the world.
