माता की सीख- 1.पञ्चपरमेष्ठी ही मङ्गल एवं शरणाधार हैं, 2.सिद्धचक्र की आराधना करना, 3.तात्कालिक चमत्कार में नहीं फँसना, 4.स्त्रियाँ स्वभाव से चञ्चल होती हैं उनका सहसा विश्वास नहीं करना, 5.परदेश में ढोंगी, कपटी, मिथ्याचारी कौन है इसे समझकर विवेक से आत्मरक्षा करना, 6.परदेश में अत्यन्त सावधानी की जरूरत है, 7.परधन व परस्त्री पर भूलकर भी दृष्टिपात नहीं करना, 8.सप्त व्यसनों से सदैव दूर रहना, 9.जल, ठग, कञ्जूस, हठी, शस्त्रधारी, नेत्रहीन, नख सींग वाले पशु, वेश्या, रोगी, ऋणि, बन्दी, शत्रु, जुआँरी, चोर, झूठ बोलने वालों का विश्वास नहीं करना, इनके मिष्ट व्यवहार को गुड़ लपेटी तलवार समझना, 10.जटाधारी, मुण्डितशिर भस्मधारी, तान्त्रिक वनवासी, कुबड़ा, बोना, काना, छोटी गर्दन वाला, डाकिनी, शाकिनी, दूतों, दासियों का विश्वास नहीं करना, 11.धन प्राप्त होने पर अहङ्कार नहीं करना, 12.सबको माता बहिन तुल्य समझना, 13.स्थान, वन, नगर, राजकुल का विश्वास नहीं करना, 14.घोड़े से सात हाथ, सींग वाले पशु से पाँच हाथ, नारी से बीस हाथ, हाथी से साठ हाथ की दूरी बनाए रखना, क्रूर पशु का और चार्वाक् मत का विश्वास नहीं करना, 15.बोलना कम-विचारना ज्यादा, 16.बैठना कम-चलना ज्यादा, 17.लेना कम-देना ज्यादा, 18.उपदेश कम देना-आचरण ज्यादा करना, 19.आज्ञा कम देना-सेवा ज्यादा करना, 20.खेद कम करना-प्रसन्न ज्यादा रहना।

The mother's counsel: 1. The five Supreme Beings alone are auspicious and a refuge; 2. worship the Siddhachakra; 3. do not fall for instant miracles; 4. women are by nature fickle—do not trust them rashly; 5. in a foreign land discern who is a hypocrite, deceiver or impostor and protect yourself with discretion; 6. in a foreign land great caution is needed; 7. never even glance at another's wealth or another's wife; 8. always stay away from the seven vices; 9. do not trust water, cheats, misers, the obstinate, the armed, the blind, clawed and horned beasts, harlots, the sick, debtors, prisoners, enemies, gamblers, thieves and liars—regard their sweet behaviour as a sword wrapped in jaggery; 10. do not trust the matted-haired, the shaven-headed ash-smeared, tantric forest-dwellers, hunchbacks, dwarfs, the one-eyed, the short-necked, sorceresses, witches, messengers and maidservants; 11. do not become proud on gaining wealth; 12. regard all as mother and sister; 13. do not trust a place, forest, city or royal house; 14. keep a distance of seven cubits from a horse, five from a horned beast, twenty from a woman, sixty from an elephant; do not trust cruel animals or the Charvaka doctrine; 15. speak less, reflect more; 16. sit less, walk more; 17. take less, give more; 18. preach less, practise more; 19. command less, serve more; 20. grieve less, stay glad more.
