जिस प्रकार ताला खोलने के लिये चाबी सीधी घुमाई जाती है और लगाने के लिये उल्टी, उसी प्रकार ''जिन रागादि भावों से कर्म आश्रव किया था, अब उनसे विपरीत 'वीतराग' भावों को बनाओ तो संवर निर्जरा होती है''।

Just as to open a lock the key is turned one way and to lock it the other way, so 'the attachment-states by which karma was let in—now cultivate the opposite, dispassionate states, and there will be stoppage and shedding of karma.'
