जल तें भिन्न कमल है, नगरनारी को प्यार यथा कादे में हेम अमल है' जैसे धाय पुत्र को अपना नहीं मानती है, मुनीम धन को अपना नहीं मानता, इसी प्रकार सम्यग्दृष्टि पर पदार्थ को अपना नहीं मानता है।

As the lotus is distinct from the water, and the town-woman's love, and as gold stays pure in the mud—just as a wet-nurse does not regard the child as her own, and an accountant does not regard the money as his own, so the right-believer does not regard external objects as his own.
