सत् आदि आठ अनुयोगों में प्रथम-प्रथम के ग्रहण करने पर द्रव्य-क्षेत्र-काल-भाव बनते हैं, जैसे सत् से द्रव्य, क्षेत्र से क्षेत्र, काल से काल, भाव से भाव, निक्षेप में भी द्रव्यादि बनते हैं, जैसे विद्यार्थी का नाम द्रव्य, उसका निवास क्षेत्र, उसकी उम्र काल, उसकी योग्यता भाव निक्षेप है।

Among the eight investigations beginning with 'existence', taking each first one gives substance-region-time-disposition; thus from existence comes substance, from region region, from time time, from disposition disposition; in installation too substance and the rest arise, as a student's name is substance-installation, his residence region, his age time, and his ability disposition-installation.
