वस्त्र को स्वभाव से गन्दा मान लेंगे, तो साफ करने का भाव नहीं होगा, इसी तरह अपने आप को शुद्ध मान लेंगे, तो शुद्ध करने का भाव नहीं होगा।

If we hold cloth to be dirty by nature, there will be no wish to clean it; likewise if we hold ourselves already pure, there will be no wish to purify ourselves.
